SCPP Home

Successful completion of the S.C.P.P. includes the following steps:

The purpose of the application, other than to screen applicants, is to give possible SCPP participants a tool by which they can measure where they are in their current thinking regarding post-graduation service, and as a way to measure progress over the following years. Applications are available in the Office of Social Commitment, 1127 Park St.

Applications consist of the following:

• Completed application form.
• Program component worksheet and volunteer hours plan of action. Before filling these out, please refer to the information on course requirements and volunteer immersion experiences.
• One recommendation on the recommendation form (no letter required)
• A 2-3 page essay on why you want to participate in the Social Commitment Preparatory Program and how this program fits into your education and post-graduation goals. Please be sure to address why you have chosen the courses, volunteer programs, and internship experiences that you selected. Include any particular strengths which you feel would contribute to your successful participation in this program (e.g., academic program, career goals, special interests, past experience).
• An unofficial transcript, including current course registration.
