Welcome to the Stonewall Resource Center Library!

Have questions? Here are some answers!

What's in the SRC Library?
Our inventory includes over 1600 books and over 100 films and subscriptions to the leading queer publications in the nation, so come lounge and browse through our collections!

What's new about the library this year?
Lots of things! We order new materials every semester to maintain our inventory up to date with current culture and the relevant interests of our patrons.  Look out for our "This Just In" and "Staff Favorites" displays, along with movie reviews and new magazine issues, as well as our “Suggestion Box” if you would like to recommend any items to our library Your student group can sign up to receive a list of books and movies relevant to your membership and mission.

Can I help?
Absolutely! Volunteer to become an SRC Monitor—our open hours depend on your time commitment.  The Stonewall Resource Center values and rewards their monitors throughout the semesters with Appreciation Dinners and other treats.

Monitor Guidelines:

Our monitors are responsible for making the Stonewall Resource Center a safe space for all the Grinnell community.  Monitors are trained to serve by:

1)     Being on time for their chosen shifts.

2)     Maintaining confidentiality on all issues.

3)     Keeping the lounge, kitchen area, side offices, and library space clean and organized at all times.

4)     Greeting anybody that may stumble into the SRC, and thus introducing them to our space, purpose, and resources.

5)    Respecting and appreciating the library collections.

6)    Checking in or out all library items to all patrons:  Regulation of our inventory is vital to the upkeep of our resourcefulness as a student library.

SRC Library Lending Rules

Films are available for 1-week check out only and cannot be immediately renewed, since they are the most popular items in our collection and are often viewed in the lounge.

Books are available for up to 3 weeks of check out and may be renewed unless they are called back by another patron.

Current magazines are not to be removed from the SRC.

When renting from a series, we ask that patrons only check out one disc or video of the series at a time. (For example, instead of taking “The L Word Season 1,” take disc 1 or 2 of the season.) This allows more people to enjoy what we have and protects us in case of lost or overdue material.

Items on the "This Just In" display table are not available for check out.

If patrons fail to return checked-out items by their corresponding due dates, __

The Stonewall Resource Center reserves the right to charge those who do not comply with our lending rules.
