What Other Academic Resources Are Here to Help Me?

If you have a disability, you may face an array of challenges at college. That's why Grinnell offers a number of services to help you develop strategies for learning and getting around.

Who To See/ Where To Go:

Your Adviser. Your Tutorial professor will get to know you well, and will want to assist you in planning your academic career. The more your adviser knows about you, the better your planning together will be.

Your Professors. Let your professors know your needs. Be direct with them. They are eager to help you succeed.

The Office of Academic Advising

Joyce Stern coordinates services for students with different needs and arranges for academic accommodations. She acts as a liaison to the faculty and offers personal, individual assistance to students who have academic questions and concerns. Make an appointment to see her as soon as you arrive at Grinnell.

The Reading Lab

This lab helps students improve reading speed, vocabulary, and reading comprehension. Joan Mohan assists students with learning disabilities in identifying effective academic strategies.

The Math Lab

This lab provides instruction for students who are experiencing difficulties in math courses and for students who want to strengthen their math backgrounds.

The Science Learning Center

This lab provides instruction for students who are experiencing difficulties in science courses and for students who want to strengthen their science background.

The Writing Lab

This lab helps students improve their ability to organize and develop their thoughts and express them in writing.

Student Tutoring

Hanna will work with you to find a student tutor for you at no charge.

Technology Resources
