Tutoring Services
The Academic Advising Office employs trained and academically successful Grinnell students to provide individual and small group tutoring sessions to any enrolled student needing assistance. You may call or come by the Academic Advising Office any time during business hours to obtain a list of available tutors. Contact Hanna Langley at X3702 or stop at Academic Advising to set up a tutor. The Tutoring Program offers tutoring help in the following subjects (for the divisions of Social Studies and Humanities only):

English as a Second Language Tutoring
The Academic Advising Office provides tutors for international students who want to practice their English (English as a Second Language).
Tutoring in the Sciences
Tutors for the sciences (Biology, Chemistry, and Physics) work through the Science Learning Center, tutors for Psychology can obtained by contacting Barbara Brown in the Psychology department, and tutors for Mathematics and Computer Science courses are available through the Math Lab.
Academic Help in other Areas
Additionally, assistance with writing assignments and reading comprehension may be obtained through the Writing Lab and Reading Laboratory, respectively. Further, the reference librarians will assist you with indepth research questions through the Library Lab. Free help from nice, competent professionals is available just about everywhere you turn. You just have to ask for it.
