Stephanie Brown earned her bachelor’s degree in psychology from the University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign and went on to earn a doctorate in Clinical Psychology from the University of Georgia. She began her professional career in higher education working as a psychologist in college counseling centers and has worked with college students for the past 13 years. Stephanie is a generalist in adult psychology who works with a range of problems of daily living as well as psychological issues. However, she particularly enjoys working with issues related to identity and self-concept exploration, grief and loss, values clarification, and family relationships. Stephanie was trained in cognitive behavioral psychology but actively incorporates existential, humanistic and interpersonal approaches into her work. She views collaboration with clients as an essential ingredient of the therapeutic and counseling process. In addition to her work in college counseling centers, Stephanie has served as a college administrator of departments responsible for service-learning and leadership development.
