Suzanne E. Siskel is the executive vice president and chief operating officer of The Asia Foundation, a non-governmental international development organization committed to the development of the Asia-Pacific region. Before joining The Asia Foundation, Suzanne served for over 20 years at the Ford Foundation in Southeast Asia and New York, including as the director of social justice philanthropy, where she oversaw efforts to mobilize philanthropic resources for social change and promote social justice throughout the world. Trained as a social anthropologist, she has served variously as a consultant, university teacher, and researcher throughout Indonesia, in rural northeast Brazil, and highland Chiapas, Mexico. She serves on the board of the Youth Orchestra of the Americas and on the Global Philanthropy Committee of the Council on Foundations, and is a past president of the Fulbright Association. She holds degrees in social anthropology from Harvard University and The Johns Hopkins University, was in the first class of Luce Scholars of the Henry Luce Foundation in 1974, and is a member of Phi Beta Kappa.
