Eliza Willis

 

Before joining the Grinnell College faculty in 1991, Professor Eliza Willis held teaching positions at Boston College and Tulane University. She teaches courses on Latin American politics, international political economy, and the political economy of developing countries. Her 2010 tutorial was entitled "Making a Difference in the Fight Against Global Poverty." Her published research focuses on various aspects of the political economy of Latin American development. She served as the director of the Associated Colleges of the Midwest's study-abroad programs in Costa Rica in 2002-2004 and as chair of the Grinnell faculty in 2006-2008. A member of Phi Beta Kappa, Eliza received her bachelor’s degree from the Georgetown School of Foreign Service and completed her Ph.D. at the University of Texas at Austin.
