On-Campus Counseling

Walk-In Counseling is a free service for urgent concerns that is located in the Health Center in the lower-level of the Forum. Counseling is available from 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. (with the last student being taken at 4:15 p.m.), Monday through Friday, when the regular academic year is in session. Students are seen at Walk-In Counseling on a first-come, first-served basis.

Because Walk-In Counseling is intended for students experiencing a crisis or who need to be seen emergently, students will not always see the same therapist at Walk-in, and the length of the session can depend on how many students are waiting. For regular appointments with the same therapist, students can ask the Walk-In staff to help refer them to a therapist at Poweshiek County Mental Health Center who fits their needs.
