On-Campus Counseling

Walk-In Counseling is a free service for urgent concerns that is located in the Health Center in the lower-level of the Forum. Counseling is available from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. (with the last student being seen at 4:30 p.m.), Monday through Friday, when the regular academic year is in session. Students are seen at Walk-In Counseling on a first-come, first-served basis.

Walk-In Counseling is intended for urgent mental health concerns and/or to provide students with information about counseling. These visits are typically brief in nature. The counselor will focus on helping the student clarify the concern and make suggestions for how best to address the concern. Students interested in ongoing counseling or medication wil be assisted by the counselors in setting up appointments at the Poweshiek County Mental Health Center .
