Your mental health can impact your academic work and your overall
satisfaction with college life. According to a University of Michigan study,
as many as 15 percent of college students suffer from depression
(University of Michigan Study).
It is also estimated that one in four adults over the age of 18 suffer from
from a diagnosable mental disorder (National Institute of Mental Health).
The counselors at the
Campus Walk-In Center and at the Poweshiek
County Mental Health Center can perform confidential screenings and
make referrals and suggestions for further counseling or treatment.
These sites are intended to be resources, not definitive diagnostic tools.
We suggest that you administer a test on-line, print out the results, and
bring the print-out to consult with a counselor at the Campus Walk-In
Center or the Poweshiek County Mental Health Center. The
therapist can help you determine the best treatment for your specific
condition and concerns.
