Ginger earned her doctorate degree in Counseling Psychology from Indiana State University. She began her professional career working in group homes and long-term inpatient settings with adolescents struggling with a variety of mental health needs. However, she has worked in 5 college counseling centers, with two of the college environments being in small private college settings. She also has a background in behavioral health and believes in the importance of the mind/body connection to promote ultimate wellness.
Ginger is a generalist who enjoys working with a wide range of issues. Her approach to therapy is relational, which means she believes that a collaborative and interpersonal approach to therapy is ideal. She believes therapy is a place for students to explore their personal problems in a non-judgmental, confidential, and supportive atmosphere. Her relationship with her students is a priority and she values and encourages healthy and compassionate resolution to any issues that arise within the therapeutic dynamic. Ginger has particular interest and expertise in trauma, sexual assault, relationship issues (e.g., family, friends, romantic), spirituality, stress reduction, and working with LGBT populations.
