Janice is a Registered Nurse. She earned her B.S.N. at the University of Iowa. Janice has practiced nursing for 26 years and in a variety of settings, including surgical recovery, in vitro fertilization, and plastic surgery. The majority of her career has been in hospital emergency room work. Janice also owns a company called X, Y, and Me which publishes children’s books explaining assisted reproduction. Janice and her husband have a dairy farm and raise Holsteins. In addition, Janice is a beekeeper and hopes to harvest her first honey this year. Janice is the mother of two college graduates and, as a parent, understands the challenges that students face as they leave their support networks at home and develop new ones at college. She is excited to work at Grinnell College and looks forward to providing medical care and guidance to students as they assume responsibility for their own health care.
