Health Services 

Our health services include:

  • Nursing assessments and treatment of minor illnesses and injuries
  • Dispensation of over-the-counter medications such as antacids, antihistamines, cough medication, decongestants, pain relievers, throat lozenges, ointments and pediculicide shampoo
  • Dispensation of the "Morning After Pill," Plan B
  • Testing for pregnancy, HIV (OraSure oral specimen antibody test), mononucleosis, Strep A, hemoglobin, blood sugar
  • Influenza innoculation
  • Assisting students in scheduling appointments with health services providers in the community and region
  • Implementation of the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and the Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments of 1988
  • Articles for loan:  heating pads, humidifiers, canes, crutches, slings, basins
  • Consultation, education, and prevention services for the entire campus community

In addition to providing a prompt, efficient, caring health regimen, we maintain close working relationships with Grinnell Regional Medical Center – the hospital located in Grinnell – and with local health care providers, clinics, and pharmacies.
