Medications Available Through Student Health and Counseling Services

The following over-the-counter medications are available from nurses at Student Health and Counseling Services (SHACS).  Medications are dispensed in accord with SHACS protocols or by written or telephone order from your physician.

Antacids:

  • Pepto-Bismol (relieves indigestion and diarrhea)
  • Gelusil (antacid, anti-gas)

Antihistamines:

  • Benadryl

Cough medication:

  • Expectorant
  • Expectorant/suppressant

Decongestants/antihistamines:

  • Decongestant
  • Decongestant/antihistamine

Pain relievers/fever reducers:

  • Aspirin
  • Acetaminophen
  • Ibuprofen

Sore throat relief:

  • Throat lozenges

Ointments:

  • Tolnaftate antifungal powder or cream
  • Bacitracin antibacterial ointment

Shampoos:

  • Rx head and pubic lice
