New Student Orientation: August 22-26, 2009

We are currently working on developing a comprehensive and intentional learning experience to help orient new students to the Grinnell community. Please click on the links at the left to see basic outlines of the schedules for students and families.

New students and their families should arrange their travel plans so that they can check in to their residence hall between 8:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 22. Students will settle in to their rooms and visit several offices before the first student session at 2:00 p.m. There will also be various family orientation sessions and events planned for Saturday, August 22 and the morning of Sunday, August 23. Therefore, many families will depart campus after 4:00pm on Saturday, August 22, but some will choose to leave around 12:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 23rd due to these additional activities planned for them.

The first tutorial class (first-years only) is scheduled for 1:00 pm on Sunday, August 23 and the first full day of classes is Thursday, August 27.
