Where I call home: Singapore

Major/Intended Major: Physics and Economics double major.

Why I came to Grinnell: From an academic standpoint, classes here really engage the students and challenge them to be active participants in learning. This is exactly what I was looking for in my education.

How do I occupy myself?  In my free time, I hang out with friends and explore the multitude of activities/talks that are going on on campus.

What’s the best part about going to Grinnell? My peers, my professors, everybody here is genuinely nice and there is a great sense of belonging to this community. I also like the fact that I have so many friends from all over the world (Some from places I had never previously encountered in my life). Having these connections around the globe is pretty cool and I really look forward to traveling and visiting their home countries some day.

My favorite class at Grinnell so far: Painting and all the other art classes! While I do think of myself as someone who is more inclined to the sciences, this liberal arts setting has enabled me to also branch into new fields and pursue a diverse and broader education at the same time. I’m delightfully surprised by how much I like the humanities classes here, they’ve definitely helped broadened my horizon.

Three words that describe Grinnell for me: Quirky, Different & Unique

My advice to prospective students: Grinnell is a place where you can broaden your horizons, explore new avenues and experience new things in life.
