Thank you for wanting to know more about me!
My name is Meriem Trabelsi and I am from Sousse, Tunisia. I am 19 years old and yet a freshman. I know that's a little bizarre but here is my story; I participated in an exchange program, called the Youth Exchange and Study Program, back in 12th grade that made my dream come true; it allowed me to study in an American high school for a year and live with an American host family in Orlando, Florida. That year was by far the most enriching experience of my life; I got to meet people from all over the world, make new friends, learn from other cultures, and, last but not least, experience graduation in an American high school. After the academic year ended I finally went back home where I had to stay two years in order to graduate in my original Tunisian high school ( two years because we have 13 grades in Tunisia and my senior year in Orlando was counted as a year off) . Ever since the end of the program I have been studying with a younger class which was awkward at first, but turned out to be a p
leasant plus!
So my high school American experience gave birth to another dream; College in America. So here I am, in Grinnell College! I am very proud and thrilled to be here; the community on campus is surprisingly very diverse and offers everything that a student would wish for. There are endless ways to fill one's schedule and make everyday an adventure. The classes are challenging, that is what makes us improve every time and seek even more challenges by the end of the day. I do not know what I will be majoring in, but what I do know is that I will try to explore as many subjects as I can and learn as much as my brain can take during my stay in Grinnell.
