My name is Laura Piñeiro and I come from Galicia, Spain. Several aspects of Grinnell have made my four year experience unique. Grinnell has a great selection of gifted students from around the world, and there is space for everyone no matter who you are and what you like to do. In addition to the outstanding academic program, Grinnell has offered me the chance to grow through diverse activities - like international soccer club, the international student organization and the varsity soccer team. I have lived in both the French and the Spanish Houses, giving me the chance to improve my language skills while living with international and American students. Grinnell offers international students a variety of opportunities (and funding) to get to know American culture and travel in the U.S. One of the best things I have done was getting to know and spend time with my host family. I feel as if I have always been a part of their lives! Grinnell has also enabled me to see other parts of the world. I am currently stu dying abroad in Beijing, where I am developing my linguistic and cultural passion for China. I have met people and undergone experiences that have changed my life.
