Xin chao! My name is Mai Anh Bui, I come from Hanoi, Vietnam. I am a first year student at Grinnell College. Since I was a little girl, I have always been dreaming of studying in the United States. I met Akiko Takai, Grinnell class of 1994, in a conference about Grinnell College in Hanoi, Vietnam in 2008. She told me her unforgettable experiences during her three years at Grinnell College (she was a transfer student) and I immediately fell in love with Grinnell College because of its academics reputation and extracurricular activities it offer. Grinnell College's generous financial aid makes it affordable for me to study at the United States. My dream has come true! I am still undecided about my major. Although I love Economics and Chinese, I would like to try some subjects that I have never had the chance to study before such as Psychology, Political Science and another foreign language (French!). Grinnell College offers all the elements of a liberal education: wide range knowledge, diverse community and challenges.
