Michael started working at Grinnell in July 1997. Within the division, he is responsible for advising SGA all-campus events (ACE), security relating to those events (ACE security), SGA Concerts, SGA Films, the Joe Rosenfield Center, the Harris Center, the Student Activity Fund (SAFund), Student Workshops (Ceramic & Photography), KDIC-FM 88.5, and performance and speaker contacts.
Students can come to Michael:
- with any questions or queries relating to the above
- for cultural, educational, and social programming
- to discuss personal or campus issues
- for assistance with event planning and funding
Michael has worked in higher education for twenty-three years. Aside from nine years of experience in campus center management and student activities, he has six years of residence life experience working with traditional and married/family housing; eight years in multicultural affairs management and programming; and experiences in academic advising, career development and financial aid in graduate school and early on in his career. Michael sees himself as a student affairs generalists and one who focuses on individual student growth and that learning is a life-long journey. Michael lives in town being “dad” to his two teenage young adults. He enjoys volunteering (through church & community), bowling, the arts, sports and the outdoors.
