FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Contact: Dann Hayes, Director of Media Relations, Web Address: www.grinnell.edu/ April 6, 2001 GRINNELL, Iowa - Anita Perez Ferguson, the former White House liaison for the U.S. Department of Transportation and the first Hispanic president of the National Women's Political Caucus from 1995 to 1999, is the Woodrow Wilson visiting Fellow at Grinnell College from April 9 to 12. Perez Ferguson, who is the chair of the Inter-American Foundation, will visit several classrooms, give two public lectures, and hold an informal discussion during her visit to Grinnell College/ She will also meet with community groups during her visit. The Woodrow Wilson Visiting Fellow is sponsored by the Rosenfield Program in Public Affairs, international Relations, and Human Rights. A former Democratic party congressional candidate in California, Perez Ferguson was also the vice president of the National Women's Political Caucus and served as Planning Commissioner of the city of Santa Barbara, Calif. Perez Ferguson received a B.A. degree in communications from Westmont College, Calif., a M.A. degree in counseling psychology from the University of Santa Clara, Calif., and a M.A. degree in management from the University of Redlands, Calif.
