This film is a visual interpretation of Walker's writings. It was made as a school project while studying The Color Purple. Each poem is illustrated with symbolic images that reflect the human nature that Walker explores.

Lee Buchenau is a senior at Grinnell High School and has made movies since the seventh grade. Last year he received third place in the Iowa Educational Media Association Student Media Festival for his music video, Born Again.
