Kendra Dorty graduated from Crockett High School in Austin, TX at the top of her class in 1998. After graduation she moved to Melbourne, Florida where she attended Brevard Community College. While in Melbourne, she volunteered at Brevard Notes, a local television program. She worked as a camera operator and became the programmer of the public service announcements for the show. After graduating from Brevard Community College with an AA Degree in 2000, she returned to Austin to attend the University of Texas. In early 2002, she began working on her first documentary, Repo Man, which followed a recovery agent in Orlando, Florida while repossessing vehicles. Kendra Dorty received 1st Place for Repo Man at the Spark Film Festival, a competition held at the University of Texas in Austin. She is currently working on a short involving employees that work at the county morgue. She is anticipating graduating from the University of Texas in May 2003 with a BA in radio, television, an
d film and intends to continue making documentaries.
