2014 Call for Applications: Staff Service Fellowship in Ghana with Grinnell Prize Winner James Kofi Annan
In appreciation of our staff's valuable contributions to the Grinnell community, and to further provide unique development opportunities for staff, up to two Grinnell staff members, regardless of exempt or non-exempt status, will receive funding to work with the 2011 prizewinner, James Kofi Annan's non-profit organization Challenging Heights in Ghana.
The Chaplain's Office offers assistance to anyone looking for places for worship, for involvement in religious student groups, and spiritual or renewal opportunities in and around Grinnell. Our goal is help students find resources for worship, prayer or renewal in whatever tradition they currently practice as well as assist them in exploring traditions and opportunities for beginning a faith or spiritual journey. In the Writing Lab, instructors assist students to become elegant, eloquent writers and public speakers and support faculty in their roles as teachers of writing and speaking across the curriculum.
Josiah Bushnell Grinnell was a congressman, a minister, the founder of Grinnell College and a radical. On the April 23, 2013 Talk of Iowa radio show, Charity Nebbe talked with a group of students at Grinnell College, who spent the semester exploring the life and beliefs of JB Grinnell. She talked with them about what they uncovered on the life, works, and legacy of a complicated man.
Representatives from Nationwide Insurance will be on campus Tuesday, Sept 17 to discuss the actuarial profession and recruit for summer internships or careers. There will be a MASSS with the representatives, at noon in Noyce 2022 , and there will be individual meetings to talk to them in the afternoon. They will also have an all-campus presentation on the actuarial field at 4:15 PM in JRC 209.
Micki Behounek: Access Services Manager. Micki has a B.A. in Business Education from Buena Vista University and an M.A. from the University of Iowa in Library and Information Science. Micki has fifteen years of library experience as a High School/Middle School Teacher Librarian for South Tama County High School. Before working in education, Micki worked in sales and banking.
