2014 Grinnell Prize Winners

The 2014 Grinnell Prize — a $100,000 award honoring young innovators in social justice — will be presented by Grinnell College to founders of two organizations making the world a healthier, cleaner place. The winners were selected from among 211 nominees who represent 34 countries and serve a total of 43 nations through their work.

The Social Justice Action Group is committed to working directly towards peace, justice, and positive social change; which includes fighting hunger, promoting volunteerism, and building understanding. We have a focus on making an impact on and strengthening relationships within our local community of Grinnell, while keeping in perspective the national and global issues of social justice in the world at large.

Pre-Health: Courses | Department

Students interested in preparing for medical school or another health profession may select any major offered at Grinnell College while completing the required pre-health courses. Grinnell College does not offer a specific pre-health or pre-med major.

Faculty assist in providing guidance to students interested in medical school (or one of the other health professions) through the Health Professions Advisory Committee (HPAC).

Internship Guidelines

Internship Guidelines Students at Grinnell College may participate in a range of internship opportunities both during the academic year and in the summer. Summer internships are available throughout the world with options for variable credit and funding for first-, second- and third-year students. Fourth-year students may only apply for academic year internships. Many summer internships receive Grinnell College funding through one of three categories:  GRINNELLLINK (internships arranged by Grinnell College Alumni) and Grant or Endowed Programs.
