Distinguished Award
One of the hallmarks of a Grinnell education is a commitment to serve others. Catharine Bousquet Evans '38 has spent a lifetime helping to better her community and her alma mater.
At Grinnell, Evans earned a degree in economics and participated in women's government and YWCA. After graduation, she became an avid volunteer. She gave her time to the American Association of University Women (AAUW), the League of Women Voters, the PEO Sisterhood, and Plymouth Congregational Church. She spent more than two decades as a member of the Callanan Junior High PTA. In addition to these activities, she served on the board for the local YWCA and AAUW.
Evans has made significant contributions as a volunteer for Grinnell College as well. She has served as a class agent and spent 25 years as a class fund director. She was a division captain for the Des Moines area AIM campaign in 1968. Evans also served on the College's advisory council and the Alumni Association Board of Directors.
For her service to the College and the community, Grinnell is pleased to recognize Catharine Bousquet Evans '38.
