Leslie Gregg-Jolly, associate professor of biology and newly-appointed associate dean of the CollegeLeslie Gregg-Jolly, associate professor of biology, has been appointed to a three-year term as associate dean of the College, effective June 30.

Gregg-Jolly, who joined the faculty in 1993, is a graduate of Vassar College and holds M.A., M.Ph., and Ph.D. degrees in biology from Yale University.

She conducts research on DNA repair in bacteria and teaches courses in molecular biology and genetics, including the ethical and social issues related to biotechnology. She recently completed elected terms on the college's Executive Council and personnel committee.

As associate dean, Gregg-Jolly will serve as a liaison between academic departments and campus offices and have involvement in the recruitment and retention of faculty and promotion of Grinnell's academic strengths.

In announcing her appointment, Dean Jim Swartz said, "Leslie is an innovative and highly effective instructor and faculty leader who has made significant contributions to campus diversity, curricular development, and scholarly achievement."
