The Grinnell Singers, a 50-voice choral ensemble, will present concerts March 14–19, in Kansas City, Denver, and points in between as part of a spring break tour.
Known for their innovative and adventurous choral programming, the Grinnell Singers will perform selections from Renaissance to 21st century works by William Byrd, Orlando Gibbons, Ralph Vaughan Williams, Michael Tippett, and Bob Chilcott. Directed by Philip Cave, visiting assistant professor of music, the Singers' tour schedule will include:
Mar. 14: Kansas City, Mo.: Grace and Holy Trinity Cathedral, 7:30 p.m.
Mar. 15: Hays, Kan.: Trinity Lutheran Church, 7:30 p.m.
Mar. 17: Colorado Springs, Colo.: Broadmoor Community Church, 7:00 p.m.
Mar. 18: Denver, Colo.: Evanston United Methodist Church, 7:30 p.m.
Mar. 19: Boulder, Colo.: St. Andrew Presbyterian Church, 7:30 p.m.
The Grinnell Singers, which have premiered more than 15 choral works in the past three years, will also share their music with high school choirs at tour locations.
