Grinnell College elects new trustees

The Grinnell College Board of Trustees elected two members to new four-year terms on the College’s governing board at its spring meeting.

Former Democratic National Chairman Charles T. Manatt Former Democratic National Chairman Charles T. Manatt joins the Grinnell board with a distinguished career in law, business, and politics.

Manatt was co-chair of the successful Clinton-Gore presidential campaign in 1992 and later served that administration as ambassador to the Dominican Republic. He founded the Washington, D.C. law firm Manatt, Phelps & Phillips, LLP, and later started the firm’s international consulting subsidiary Manatt Jones Global Strategies.

Paul A. McCulley Paul A. McCulley ’79 recently completed the unexpired term of a retiring board member and now joins for a four-year term.

McCulley is a partner of PIMCO, the world’s largest fixed income investment management company, where he also leads PIMCO’s Cyclical Economic Forum and is author of a monthly research publication. The Grinnell economics graduate also founded Morgan LeFay Dreams Foundation, dedicated to the needs of children.

The Grinnell board also re-elected three Grinnell alumni to four-year terms: Clinton Korver ‘89, venture partner, Crescendo Ventures; M. Anne Spence’66, professor emerita of pediatrics, University of California, Irvine; and Barrett Thomas ‘97, assistant professor of management sciences, University of Iowa.
