Each year, Grinnellians compete for prizes and kudos in several creative writing competitions.
First prize winners for 2008 (shown left to right) are:

Award winners were recognized during a formal reading from the Grinnell Review, the College's mainstream journal of art and literature, on Thursday, May 8.
This year's winners and winning entries are:
- 1st prize, $100 given by the Academy of American Poetry
