Paula Nuttall

Paula Nuttall is an art historian specialising in the renaissance, with a particular interest in artistic relations between Italy and Northern Europe.  She obtained her Ph.D from the Courtauld Institute of Art, London and was formerly a lecturer in art history at the British Institute of Florence.  She is Director of the Medieval and Renaissance Year Course at the Victoria and Albert Museum, London and has taught at a number of British universities including Cambridge and the Courtauld Institute.  She was a member of the Scientific Committee for the exhibition Florence and the Low Countries: from Van Eyck to Raphael at the Pitti Palace, Florence in 2008 and is currently collaborating with the Huntington Art Collection, San Marino, CA on a similarly themed exhibition for 2013.   She is the author of From Flanders to Florence: the Impact of Netherlandish Painting, 1400-1500 (Yale University Press, 2004).
