Melissa Strovers directs programs and communications aimed at improving the quality of life in Grinnell. Strovers oversees the Apprenticeship Program in Nonprofit Management, the Community Mini-Grant Program, Payroll Deduct for Charitable Contributions, and the Volunteer Initiative Programs for Employees and Students. Prior to her position with Grinnell College, Strovers served as the Executive Director of Imagine Grinnell for four years. During that time, Strovers was instrumental in securing nearly $1 million in funding for the expansion and programming of the Grinnell Area Recreation Trail- as well as leading key healthy initiatives in the community that included events such as Bike to Work Week, Bike and Hike to Shop, Grinnell Bike Week and International Walk to School Day. Strovers is a graduate of Oklahoma Christian University, where she earned a B.S. in Mass Communications.
