As a Grinnell College student, Frederick Morgan Taylor 1926 sang first tenor with Glee Club; stared in a play, “The Goal;” studied English and business administration, and was known for dancing the best Charleston on campus. He also was the fastest hurdler in the world.

On Nov. 5, Southern completed the New York City Marathon alongside more than 51 thousand runners. Southern’s finished the marathon in an impressive 2:48:38 with an average mile pace of 6:26, making her the first woman from New York City to finish the race, the seventh U.S. woman and 23rd woman overall.
The CSCAA, an organization striving to advance intercollegiate swimming and diving, recently selected both of Grinnell’s swim teams for the Spring Scholar All-America Teams.
Holly Roepke will return to Grinnell College with her appointment as director of athletics and recreation. She will also serve as chair of the department of Physical Education, Athletics, and Recreation (PEAR).
Grinnell teams have secured seven team conference championships out of 20 sports, with five of these titles achieved by women's teams. The conference champions are women's soccer, women's swimming and diving, women’s golf, women’s tennis, and softball. Men’s tennis and men’s swimming and diving won conference championships as well.
