Vicki Nolton
Assistant Director for Social Innovation Partnerships and Education
Vicki assists with the coordination and support of events and projects related to the Grinnell Prize, Grinnell Corps, post-graduate service, civic engagement, and service learning. She feels fortunate to work on an incredible team with diverse talents and personalities.
A native of Panama (Iowa—nowhere close to the canal, and not Panorama), Vicki came to Grinnell College in 2013 after working in a variety of community-based services. Her experience as a direct-service provider in mental health and human services and as a program coordinator for a maternal and child health program has shaped her holistic approach to helping others, building effective collaborations, and designing useful services. She holds a BA with a double major in art and psychology from Briar Cliff University in Sioux City.
Outside of work, her family (husband and two daughters) keeps life brimming with surprises and learning opportunities. When free time allows, her interests include Scandinavian interior design, contemporary dance, abstract expressionist art, hiking at national parks, and the process of making (whether it be painting, sculpting, sewing, knitting, or designing children’s rooms).
