Sharon Isley

Sharon is the Chemical Hygiene Officer for academic programs. She is responsible for the proper handling of hazardous waste. She is also responsible for all aspects of the Chemistry Stockroom operation. This includes maintaining an inventory of chemicals and supplies, ordering and approving payment for materials, and supervising student stockroom staff. In addition, she maintains all of the other financial records of the department and of research grants held by individual faculty members or the department. She works with the Chemistry Equipment and Technical Assistant in The preparation of materials and solutions for instructional laboratories and demonstrations. Sharon has a B.S. in Biology with a Chemistry minor from Indiana Wesleyan University and worked as an analytical chemist for nine years at Keystone Labs in Newton before coming to Grinnell.
