Student Health and Wellness (SHAW) advances Grinnell College’s mission and strategic plan by providing person-centered care and services supporting the physical, mental, and social well-being of all students, as well as supporting the holistic health of the campus community. SHAW helps students learn to engage with life tasks that are needed to support personal health and well-being in order to be successful during their time at Grinnell and beyond.
For the most recent campus activity level and other information, visit the COVID Resources webpage.
SHAW will not be offering a walk-in clinic option nor will Campus Safety have rapid antigen tests. Instead, students will be given 2 at-home rapid antigen tests that they can have on hand if needed. Remember to follow the CDC guidelines for testing. If a student is symptomatic, they should contact SHAW (641-269-3230) for an appointment with a provider.
Supreme Court Decision
SHAW continues to support all students’ health and the choices they make for their bodies. We will continue to offer students no-cost emergency contraception and pregnancy tests as well as access to testing for sexually transmitted infections. Grinnell College is continuing to keep an eye on the legal status of abortions in Iowa. Please read President Harris’s official statement. You can also view and track each state’s laws, court decisions, and constitutions related to abortions through the Center for Reproductive Rights.
