Ancient Greek Heroes: Creating Your Hero Origin Story

In this course we will explore the ancient tradition of telling stories through myths about famous heroes. You will learn about classic Greek figures and the role of storytelling in Greek society. You will then create your own hero using what you have learned. 

Yoga and You: Learning About Yoga and Mindfulness

Have you ever done yoga? Are you curious about this ancient practice? Join this class to learn the basics of yoga and how mindfulness will work for you.

Do you like poetry? Do you want to learn more? Join us in an exploration of poetry and create your own masterpiece!

Paint It Picasso

Have you ever wanted to know more about art? Want to get messy with paint? Then Paint it Picasso is the Ignite course for you! We will learn about Pablo Picasso, take a trip to the Faulconer Gallery, and you will paint your very own canvas with a Picasso-style painting!

I Scream for Ice Cream: States of Matter

I scream, you scream, we all scream for ice cream!!! But how is this delicious treat made and what is the chemistry behind it? We will learn all about melting and freezing points through the delicious process of ice cream making.

Music: Rhythm, Timbre, and Patterns

Did you know that we are constantly making music every day? Every time we move or breathe, our hearts are always pounding to a certain beat. Come learn about other ways we can create music by discovering rhythm, timbre, and patterns!

Starting from Scratch: An Introduction to Computer Science

Students will learn how to think algorithmically in Scratch while using programming on their computer to tell stories. Students will come away with their own story designs to get them started and excited for coding. No experience necessary, all levels welcome from skilled programmers to beginners.
