Medical Accommodations

Grinnell College provides residential accommodations for students with medical or psychological conditions and/or disabilities.

How to Request Accommodations

To determine reasonable accommodations in the residential environment that address your access needs, we need to review documentation of your disability and discuss what will be important to providing you equal access. Documentation you provide should include a diagnosis, current impact of the disability, and recommendations for accommodations in a residential setting. If you have specific questions about what kind of documentation we need or how this process works at Grinnell, please consult Resources for Students (Grinnell College credentials required) or the Office of Accessibility and Disability Services.

Incoming first-year or transfer students should provide disability resources with necessary documentation by the deadline on the new student checklist for the fullest range of possible accommodations.

Returning students should provide disability resources with necessary documentation and requested accommodations by March 1st for the fullest range of possible accommodations.

Students who miss the deadlines listed above can still request accommodations, however limited options for housing may remain after room selection.
