Research & Technology Tutors

The Libraries hire friendly, accomplished students to work in Burling Library as research & technology tutors. Our tutors staff Burling’s research desk Sunday through Thursday, 10 a.m.-11 p.m.; Friday, 10 a.m. – 5 p.m.; or Saturday 2 p.m.-4 p.m. for a total of 61 hours each week.

Research & technology tutors help students and faculty members explore potential research topics, search for and obtain relevant material, and consider a wide range of promising sources, such as peer-reviewed scholarship, newspaper articles, images, primary sources, and data, for instance. Our tutors also help students with questions about library and personal computers and library printers and scanners.

To meet with a research & technology tutor, just drop by the research desk in Burling Library; or contact a tutor (641-269-3353, email, or chat) during the hours listed above.
