Event Funding

The Peace and Conflict Studies (PACS) Program may be able to help support campus events that fit within the PACS Program funding guidelines.

Internship Funding

The PACS Program supports up to four internships that deepen students' understanding of the causes of violence and violations of human dignity and give them direct experience applying creative strategies for conflict prevention, resolution, or reconciliation in international, intergroup, or interpersonal disputes.

Davis Projects for Peace

Davis Projects for Peace hopes to encourage student initiative, innovation and entrepreneurship focusing on conflict prevention, resolution or reconciliation. The Grinnell College Davis Projects for Peace Nominating Committee will nominate one project and one alternate in this competition.

Leonard M. Kurz ’75 Me to We Volunteer Trip

The Leonard M. Kurz ’75 Me to We Volunteer Trip Award provides a Grinnell College student with an experiential opportunity with the nonprofit WE Charity via one of its annual international volunteer trips. WE volunteer trips give students hands-on experience working alongside local community members on a development project in various international locations, including India, Tanzania, the Amazon, and Central America.

Leonard M. Kurz ’75 Student Peace Award

The  Leonard M. Kurz ’75 Student Peace Award was established to further campus and community awareness of issues related to peace and conflict studies and to support leadership efforts by students in these areas.

The award includes a financial prize and is announced at Commencement to a graduating student who has exemplified engagement with the field of peace and conflict studies both inside and outside the classroom.
