Support the Program

This program could not exist without the generous support of Grinnell alumni, friends of the college, and the Grinnell-Newburg community. If you are interested in supporting the Careers in Education Professions program, a number of ways to get involved are listed below. If any of these opportunities appeal to you or if you have other ideas on how you can support the program, please contact Dan Covino, the Lawrence S. Pidgeon Director of Grinnell Careers in Education Professions, at covinoda@grinnell.edu or call (641) 269-9980.

Host Student Internships or Externships

One of the primary goals of the program is to provide students with the opportunity to increase their time spent in actual educational settings and to gain experience in the field. Externships offer first- and second-year students the opportunity to shadow Grinnell alums in the field for a two-week period of time. Internships allow students to get a more hands-on, extended experience and are often invaluable in providing students with tangible skills and providing access to the deeper workings of an industry.

Volunteer to Speak at an event

One of the best ways our students can learn and discover information about careers in education is to listen and engage with practitioners in the field. We would love to have you speak at a Grinnell Careers in Education Professions event.

Donate

Any donations made to the program will be used to continue the relevant and instructive programming and events held each semester to broaden students’ exposure to current topics in education and encourage career-readiness after graduation.
