  • All Grinnell College buildings are closed to the public.
  • The Grinnell College Museum of Art and the Bucksbaum Arts Center are currently closed to the public. Grinnell College faculty, staff, and students (living on campus or approved off campus) may now make an appointment to visit the Museum of Art.
  • Grinnell College Golf Course is closed and will plan to reopen in early 2021.

Campus Activity Level: Yellow

Safety/PPE: Masks worn indoors. Masks and shields worn indoors with others​. Masks worn outdoors with others. Exception: in a private space with the door closed, shower, pool​

Classes: Hybrid, primarily online, some in-person with appropriate PPE/safety precautions​.

Meetings and Events: Primarily online, limited events/meetings in-person with appropriate PPE/safety precautions.

Athletics: No competition, limited training with PPE/safety precautions​; buildings at reduced capacity.

Travel/Visitors: Faculty and staff travel restrictions in place with limited opportunities by permission. Limited visitors by reservation only; please check with department or office you intend to visit.

Dining: Take-out food available during business hours from the Marketplace Dining Hall for students and employees on meal plans.

Weekly COVID-19 Testing Clinic Update: Feb. 22, 2021

For the week of Feb. 15, 2021, 580 unique students were tested with 580 being negative and 0 positive resulting in a 0% positivity rate. A total of 308 faculty and staff were tested with 308 being negative and 0 being positive also resulting in a 0% positivity rate. Testing occurred on Monday through Wednesday.

2021 Commencement Ceremony

Grinnell College will host an in-person, outdoor commencement ceremony for graduating seniors on Friday, May 28, 2021, at 10 a.m. In light of current and projected community health conditions, we will not be able to invite families or guests including faculty, staff, and first-year through third-year students to attend this year's commencement.
