Student Work Arrangements

Students whose financial aid package includes work and are leaving campus: At the request of supervisors, some jobs will be approved for remote work. Due to limitations associated with student visas for international students, only domestic students will be permitted to work remotely from campus. If employed remotely, students will continue to be compensated through the college’s payroll system. If a student is not employed remotely, the college will assess the degree of financial need remaining after accounting for reimbursement and will award unused wages in the form of a grant to meet student financial need.

Students whose financial aid package includes work and are remaining in Grinnell: These students are expected to continue working as possible. Additional jobs are likely to be available if one’s current job does not continue.

Students whose work is not connected to their financial aid package: These students will be compensated for hours worked. No grants will be awarded to these students to replace hours not worked.
