College-Sponsored Travel

College-Sponsored Travel Policies for Fall 2021

College-sponsored travel by faculty, staff, and students is generally supported this fall. Those seeking to travel will need to comply with customary unit-level approval and budget processes for travel. Find more detailed information about Fall 2021 college-sponsored travel policies on the Institute for Global Engagement (IGE) Fall 2021 Travel Policy webpage (log-in required).

Domestic Travel

Faculty, staff, and students traveling outside their home state are strongly encouraged to register for resources and information, including updated COVID-related information. Should an emergency arise, this may help the College provide support. Learn more about domestic travel recommendations and access the Domestic Travel Registry on the Institute for Global Engagement (IGE) Travel Registration webpage (log-in required).

International Travel

Those who want to participate in Grinnell-sponsored international travel must submit a travel request form for review by the Global Health and Safety Committee. Learn more about travel registration, travel indicators assessed, and international travel guidelines on the IGE Travel Registration webpage (log-in required).

If international travel is advisable, IGE will enroll approved individuals in international travel insurance and register them for Alert Traveler (these services are for faculty, staff, and students ONLY and GrinnellShare log-in is required to register). Approved travelers also will be required to register for the U.S. Department of State Smart Traveler Enrollment Program.
