Health and Wellness Update, Sept. 7, 2021
Beginning next week, we will be refreshing the Weekly COVID Update. The new update will feature curated resources, tips, and information to support the overall wellbeing of Grinnellians.
COVID Protocols for Faculty, Staff, and Students
- Faculty and staff guidance and protocols for employees who test positive for COVID-19, who have been exposed to a person who has tested positive, or who have a household member who has tested positive.
- Protocol for faculty and staff who are experiencing COVID-19 symptoms.
- Student guidance and protocols for Students with COVID-19 symptoms or exposure.
The College is working on developing a supply of (at) home tests to provide to employees. SHAW has put together a list of off-campus COVID-19 testing options that are available to faculty, staff and students. Students who are symptomatic or have been exposed to COVID-19 should call SHAW for directions at 641-269-3230.
COVID Planning Town Hall for Students and Parents
Students and parents are invited to a COVID planning town hall (password: Grinnell2021) to hear more information about our protocols. President Anne Harris will be on the call as well as members of our medical team from the University of Iowa. A recording of the townhall will be available for those unable to attend or who are celebrating Rosh HaShanah.
Tuesday, September 7 at 8 p.m. CDT
Campus Activity Level at Modified Blue
The College is at a modified Blue campus activity level in light of the health conditions presented by the COVID-19 delta variant. Our campus activity level system provides overall guidance for life and work at Grinnell based on our community health conditions.
Concerned About Those Who Increase Risk Due to Non-Compliance?
Ø Be an active participant in helping keep our community safe! If you observe a PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) or other public health policy non-compliance issue you can address it directly with that individual. If you feel uncomfortable doing so Grinnell College urges you to utilize EthicsPoint to anonymously report observed PPE or other public health policy non-compliance issues.
To Your Health,
Terry W. Mason, Ph.D.
Dean for Health and Wellness
