The Office of Off-Campus Study held its first annual photo contest in February. There were 4 categories — people, place, thing, and custom — as well as an overall contest winner. We received over 100 submissions from students that participated in off-campus study in spring 2016 or fall 2016.

Overall Winner: Sophie Wright ’18

Blue House with Rainpipes.
Sophie participated in IES Abroad Berlin Metropolitan Studies.

Place Category Winner: Sarah Jordan ’18

Alpaca Herding.
Sarah participated in SIT Study Abroad Ecuador: Comparative Ecology and Conservation.

Custom Category Winner: Linnea Schurig ’17

The Cheese Markets of Istanbul.
Linnea participated in the Duke in Istanbul program.

Thing Category Winner: Helena Kleiner ’17

Terracotta Horses.
Helena participated in the South India Term Abroad in Madurai, India.

People Category Winner:  Holly Walter ’17

Riding Across Wadi Rum.
Holly participated in the AMIDEAST Arabic Language and Studies program in Amman, Jordan.
