The Pioneer Bookshop will celebrate with the other Grinnell downtown merchants during the annual kick off of the holiday shopping season,  Jingle Bell Holiday.

From 5 to 8 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 18, the Pioneer Bookshop will serve hot chocolate and cookies.

Kids' activities include making a pom-pom necklace/ornament or a paper flower for the tree. Kids can also write wish lists for parents to use another day. Items on the wish list will be 10% off.

Main Street Grinnell will be filled with cheer as horse-drawn carriages circle the block.

Santa will be hearing the wishes of children at Total Choice Shipping. Cory Hall Photography will be there to capture the moment.

Other stores will have music and specials. Jingle Bell Holiday is always a festive event.
