Grinnell, Iowa - Six recent Grinnell College graduates received scholarships from the Ladies Education Society, the college’s oldest surviving organization.
 
Founded in 1862, the Ladies Education Society annually awards need-based scholarships in support of women students in good academic standing who have demonstrated "character and purpose through leadership and participation in community service.."
 
The 2013-14 award winners are (front row, from left in photo):
-- Amanda Buduris, a senior psychology major from Merrionette Park, Ill;
-- Clare Mao, a senior history/Chinese major from Fresh Meadows, N.Y.;
-- Lisa Eshun-Wilson, a senior biological chemistry major from Los Angeles,    Calif.;
-- Emily Johnson, a senior English major from Charles City, Iowa;
-- Molly Gallagher, a senior physics major from Frankfort, Ill.; and
-- Emily Nucaro, a senior major in sociology and global development studies.
