Video Games as Possibility Spaces for Language Learners

Dr. Felix Kronenberg, Assistant Professor of Modern Languages and Literatures and Director of the Language Learning Center at Rhodes College, will discuss how video games can promote incidental language learning. Using games to make language learning more engaging is nothing new, but increasingly sophisticated contemporary video games can motivate students even more by affording them new identities, engaging them in "real world" problem-solving simulations, and creating new possibilities for language learning inside and outside of the classroom.
