What I Do
I have worked in Grinnell's Office of Admission since moving to the area in 1987. My current responsibilities include administering software and leading a team of operational staff to help maintain all of the back-end processes designed to help guide students through the college search and application process. I love working at Grinnell – the high level of commitment Grinnellians have to each other and to their learning experience is inspiring and humbling. My life has certainly been enriched by the many Grinnell students I have known, and I feel a sense of pride and comfort watching them go out into the world to make a positive impact on society!
What I Did
I'm originally from Millerton, NY, and graduated from high school in Tacoma, WA. After two years of college in Tacoma, my husband and I moved to a small town near Grinnell, where he was born and raised, and I later majored in business administration at William Penn University here in Iowa.
What I Love
I have now lived in Iowa longer than anywhere else and proudly call Iowa home – in fact, it's sometimes hard for me to imagine living anywhere else. I absolutely love being able to see the stars at night and enjoy the serenity of living in a more rural area. In my free time, I love to spend time with family and friends, cuddle with my dog (a 100 pound rottweiler who still believes he is a lap dog), ride out in the country on a four-wheeler, or simply curl up with a good book.
