Michael started working at Grinnell in July 1997. Within the division, he is responsible for advising SGA all-campus events (ACE), security relating to those events (ACE security), SGA Concerts, SGA Films, the Joe Rosenfield Center, the Harris Center, the Student Activity Fund (SAFund), Student Workshops (Ceramic & Photography), KDIC-FM 88.5, and performance and speaker contacts. Students can come to Michael: with any questions or queries relating to the above for cultural, educational, and social programming to discuss personal or campus issues for assistance with event planning and funding Michael has worked in higher education for twenty-three years. Aside from nine years of experience in campus center management and student activities, he has six years of residence life experience working with traditional and married/family housing; eight years in multicultural affairs management and programming; and experiences in academic advising, career development and financial aid in graduate school and early on in his career. Michael sees himself as a student affairs generalists and one who focuses on individual student growth and that learning is a life-long journey. Michael lives in town being “dad” to his two teenage young adults. He enjoys volunteering (through church & community), bowling, the arts, sports and the outdoors.
